Richard Armitage as Mr. Thornton in North & South

In an interview with the Anglophile Channel which was put on YouTube today, Mr. Armitage commented that Mr. Thornton didn’t have a wet shirt as Mr. Darcy did. Both were deemed hot & sexy 19th century literary heroes in the days following their television debuts. But I don’t think Mr. Thornton needed a wet shirt to make him hot & sexy. Mr. Richard Armitage succeeded in doing that just by taking off his cravat! Phew!

Is that Colin Firth as Darcy? Or is that the scene from Lost in Austen?

  2. kelbel75 says:

that’s not Colin, that’s from “Lost in Austen” 😉 but I agree that Mr. Thornton didn’t need a wet shirt to be sexy, seeing his exposed neck was more alluring than many others with much less clothing on 😎

  3. Teuchter says:

I believe that is indeed Colin Firth. Elliot Cowan was Darcy in Lost in Austen and looks quite different. Check him out in the wet shirt scene on IMDb!

Wet shirts are icing on the cake;)
